On May 23, 2011, American Honda Motor Company released a press statement about the upcoming 2011 Honda Civic tour. According to the press release, "the annual summer concert series is marking its deca-versary by bringing back blink-182, the inagural artist from the first Honda Civic Tour in 2001, along with My Chemical Romance for a 40-plus date nationwide trek beginning on Friday, August 5."
The 2011 Honda Civic Tour will be rolling into Charlotte, North Carolina on September 20, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Honda of Concord will be holding a contest (details below) to give away 4 tickets to this concert!
Mark Hoppus of blink-182 (pictured above) states, "It's great to be going back out on the Honda Civic Tour. We had a blast kicking off the tour ten years ago, and this summer we'll be taking it to the next level with our friends My Chemical Romance."
blink-182 has sold over 30 million records in the two decades they have performed as a band. They are also currently finishing their first studio album since 2003.
Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance (pictured below) states, "We are looking forward to heading out on the road this summer with blink-182. The line-up for the Honda Civic Tour over the last decade has featured some great bands, and we're excited to be a part of it."
My Chemical Romance's album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys was named one of Rolling Stone Magazine's "30 Best Albums of 2010."
In addition, at the concert you will be able to view blink-182's custom designed 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe and My Chemical Romance's custom designed 2011 Honda CBR250R. PLUS! You can enter to win either of them!
CONTEST RULES:
1. Honda of Concord will maintain the contestant information and keep it private. Upon winning, only your name and a photo of receipt of tickets will be posted onto the Honda of Concord blog and Facebook page.
2. You must be 18 years or older to enter, and will be required to provide identification upon receipt of tickets.
3. All Contestants MUST be "fans" of the Honda of Concord Facebook page.
4. In order to register for the contest, all prospective contestants must send a private message to Honda of Concord's Facebook account with their Name and Contact Information.
5. Once you have registered:
- Your goal is to obtain the highest number of "likes" to the Honda of Concord Facebook page. These "likes" must be for the ENTIRE Facebook Page, not just on one of the status updates or wall posts.
- In order to TALLY all of your referrals, those you refer will need to post on our wall or send a private message with your First and Last name. If they do NOT follow this process, then those "likes" will not count toward your overall total.
6. You may post about this on your personal Facebook page, Twitter, Blog, MySpace or other social networking sites in order to garner interest in helping you win the contest and to promote Honda of Concord.
7. The contest will run from TODAY, July 13, 2011 until SUNDAY, July 31, 2011. ALL of your "likes" must be submitted by this time.
8. ONLY when someone posts or messages YOUR name as their referral will you be given a tally toward winning.
9. The winner will be notified during the first week of August. IF YOU DO NOT ANSWER AT YOUR PROVIDED CONTACT INFORMATION: the tickets will be deferred to the 2nd place winner.
